Learn to present so you can deliver for your team, go for that job or give that important speech.
⭐️
So many people avoid having to give a presentation or a speech, which is such a shame. It prevents them from being the colleague who stood up and delivered for the team; it can block career paths or going for a promotion because you know you'll have to give talks; or it can mean missing out on a chance to share feelings and stories at a special occasion with friends and family, perhaps at a wedding.
Avoid it no more!
Work with expert coaching to find out more about presenting, so you can seize great opportunities in your life.
You can learn to present and in your own way. And you will feel empowered!
⭐️
Unless you have been taught to how to present, you will feel unsteady.
Presenting is a skill that is learned. You are not born with it. You can be taught.
You are perfectly able to talk and have conversations with family, friends and colleagues – even entertain! So why is it so difficult to stand in front of people and give a talk?
Because:
– you are being asked to engage with people outside your usual interaction behaviour. We have to learn a new way.
– you feel separate from the group, and this goes against deep, strong survival instincts. But you are not in any danger.
Everyone can present. But very few people can present well and confidently without being shown how.
Accept that presenting is a skill that needs training and practice, so that you feel steady and in control.
Think about it – speaking in front of an audience is not normal behaviour! So why would it feel comfortable? It means talking for much longer than you normally would, without anyone joining in with you, and without anyone showing you reassuring connection signals such smiling or nodding, etc. You can feel exposed, judged and afraid, even if you know your content well. But feelings aren't facts.
Remember: presenting and having a presentation mindset are things you have probably never been taught.
I only have two to six people in any group, to make sure I address individual needs and make everyone feel at ease.
The irony of offering workshops on presenting skills, is that some won't come through fear of the very workshop that is designed to help! Give it a try to demystify and learn about this valuable skill.
In my relaxed and tailor-made workshops we first examine with curiosity why we feel anxious when speaking in front of others (good news: it’s not your fault and it’s not a weakness in your character). Then you will learn to shift your mindset from self-critic to self-aware and self-soothing, manage any nerves, and then to be creative in focusing on your audience’s needs and delivering memorable content more confidently.
Think of the opportunities to win business, influence others or simply say the things you'd like to say at a special occasion.

Aims
⭐️
I keep group sizes small in order to address the individual needs of everyone taking part.
⭐️
I work in a relaxed and informal style with a highly positive and motivating atmosphere.
⭐️
My aim is to remove the fear of and mystery behind public speaking, equip you with the essentials, and motivate you to present and want to present in the future. Presenting does not have to be 'something that other people can do'.

About me
ANDY COWLE
Passionate about travel from a young age, I started out studying German and English Linguistics before teaching English in Germany and the UK. I then embarked on a career in sales and training for the language education publishing sector, which has taken me to more than fifty countries in the last thirty-four years.
I am proud to have an excellent reputation as a plenary speaker and workshop facilitator at conferences worldwide. I work hard on each and every talk, always looking to improve, and would like to help others to be able to present clearly, confidently and with their own style and personality.
I grew up on the Wirral, Merseyside, studied in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and have lived with my family in Glasgow since 2001. When I'm not at work, I play guitar, do improv, watch films (not at the same time!) and enjoy whisky, wine and great food.
We engaged Andy to prepare our team for a major presentation and interview. We ranged greatly in experience and age from old cynics to young enthusiasts, but Andy engaged us all. He made us all feel at ease, but challenged us to think differently. We not only developed new presentation skills, but increased our confidence in presenting as a team. The pitch we ultimately made was greatly enhanced, and we have all continuing applying the skills we gained in subsequent pitches and presentations. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Andy!
Jonathan Hynes, ARCHETYPE
Ever since Andy has trained me all my nerves have disappeared when presenting. I am talking clearer and I feel that I can tackle any audience now, I would definitely use him again!”
